The SV1000 was the replacement for the legendary TL1000S. It has fuel injection and a smoother power delivery like the TL1000R. As far as I know they aren’t prone to throwing people off for no reason with no warning like the first TL’s (allegedly were) and as far as I know the frames don’t crack around the headstock like on the TL1000S.
They should be just as much fun and easier to ride (I hated the TL at low revs but the R version was fine), also are not as likely to have fallen into the wrong hands. I haven’t ridden one but I would buy one of these over a Falco and most of the other big V-Twins except maybe a Firestorm. The forums I have read suggest that they are a little less thirsty than the other 1000 V’s so that might swing it. You can get nice low mileage examples from a dealer for as little as 2 grand so they are worthy of a place around the top ten best value for money bikes.
I believe you have mentioned some very interesting points, thanks for the post.
