Suzuki RF600R

Bit of a strange one these, they were the 600cc sports entry before the GSXR600 came on the scene and supposed to replace the ageing GSX600F. They are a sports tourer like the GSXF but were billed as a sportsbike like the RF900R when they came out.

Top fairing is typical mid 90′s with moulded single headlight, side panels are Ferrari (looked cool on red and yellow bikes) and the tail piece is Starship Enterprise. The ZX6R, Thundercat, and CBR600 of the time were all faster, lighter, better handling and generally made it look stupid so I guess that’s why they never sold well. The engine and chasis are the same as the RF900R with the engine sleeved down, so it weighs a ton and isn’t overpowered. They are good tourers so if you can bag a cheap one with low miles in good condition they are worth a look, but don’t pay over a grand tops for anything as you will struggle to sell it later on.
Just about deserves it’s place in the top 20, maybe.
