Bit of a confusing bike for me these. They are a bit heavier than the RSV’s granted but they are still more sports than tourer and have quite a trick twin spar alloy frame as well as fully adjustable suspension and Brembo brakes. I found them to handle better than the RSV and the engine feels the torque-iest of the V-Twins that I have tried. The only thing I could fault with the one I rode was the fueling which is very snatchy and lumpy at low revs. The TL1000S and SP1′s are the same, but the Falco seems to still work well overall as a road bike where the other two make riding a chore. I would best describe this bike as a V-Twin ZX7R in the way it feels to ride. Really stable and safe handling but aggressive at the same time, those loud booming pipes just make you want to pull wheelies and commit other acts of urban terrorism whenever anyone is looking.
As these bikes are billed (wrongly or rightly) as sports tourer you can act all sensible and law abiding when plods about.
My advice would be to get one as standard as possible as a few people discovered Aprilla’s well kept secret and severely abused the hell out of them. They won’t take as much abuse as a FireStorm, but a well cared for one is well worth a look and the fueling may be ok with standard cans.
Deserves it’s place in the top 15, don’t get sucked in by anything thats been abused even if it is cheap as spares are expensive.
Its like you read my thoughts! You seem to understand so much about this, like you wrote the e book in it or something. I think that you simply could do with a few p.c. to pressure the message home a bit, however instead of that, that is great blog. A great read. I’ll definitely be back.
I am not very great with English but I come up this very leisurely to understand.
